The strategic engagement focused on strengthening coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities to ensure effective policy alignment in managing inflation, exchange rate fluctuations, and overall macroeconomic performance.

Speaking during the visit, CBN Governor Mr. Olayemi Cardoso emphasized that sustained collaboration between the nation’s financial and fiscal institutions is critical to achieving the Tinubu administration’s economic objectives. He reaffirmed the apex bank’s commitment to ensuring monetary stability, fostering investor confidence, and driving long-term economic growth.

Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, noted that fiscal reforms are already underway to enhance revenue generation, curb waste, and promote transparency in public finance management. He stressed that harmonizing fiscal and monetary policies will help restore balance to the economy and accelerate inclusive growth.

Also present, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, underscored the importance of data-driven planning and effective budget implementation to achieve measurable impact in critical sectors. He commended the CBN’s ongoing reforms to improve liquidity and support key industries essential to job creation and productivity.

The meeting, which comes amid Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to stabilize the naira and sustain economic reforms, reflects a renewed sense of policy coordination among key economic managers.
