In a renewed effort to make quality entertainment more accessible, MultiChoice Nigeria has announced another round of price reductions for its DStv and GOtv decoders, just in time for the festive season.
The pay-TV company confirmed that, effective November 1, 2025, the DStv decoder now costs ₦7,900, down from ₦10,000, while the GOtv decoder price has been slashed to ₦6,500. The move marks MultiChoice’s second major price adjustment within six months, reflecting its continued commitment to affordability and customer satisfaction amid Nigeria’s challenging economic environment.
This development follows the company’s earlier “We’ve Got You” campaign in June, when MultiChoice made a bold 50 percent reduction on decoder prices — from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000 for DStv and ₦18,600 to ₦9,900 for GOtv. The strategy was designed to expand access to its wide range of local and international content while easing the financial pressure on households.
According to Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice Nigeria, the company’s latest price review is part of a deliberate effort to support families during the holiday season.
“This move ensures that entertainment remains affordable for all Nigerians as the festive season approaches,” Oshunkeye said. “We want to ensure that families can enjoy quality content and connect over the best of local and international entertainment without worrying about cost.”
The decision comes at a time when inflation and cost of living pressures are affecting consumer spending across the country. Industry analysts believe MultiChoice’s pricing strategy could strengthen its market position while increasing decoder ownership among first-time users.
For many Nigerians, the latest price slash brings relief and renewed enthusiasm as they prepare for the holidays. From blockbuster movies and live sports to children’s programs and lifestyle shows, MultiChoice promises a vibrant mix of content tailored to every family’s taste.
As the festive season approaches, the company’s continued investment in affordability signals a broader vision to maintain its leadership in Nigeria’s entertainment space while bridging the gap between premium content and everyday affordability.
MultiChoice Nigeria has reduced DStv and GOtv decoder prices again — DStv now ₦7,900, GOtv ₦6,500 — making premium entertainment more affordable for Nigerians ahead of the festive season.
