The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar (Danmajen Gwandu, Gamjin Kabi), will take centre stage at the maiden Nigeria International Airshow, where he is expected to unveil strategic insights on airspace modernization, aviation safety, and sustainable air navigation systems.
Umar’s presentation will highlight NAMA’s ongoing transformation agenda, including the upgrade of communication, navigation, and surveillance infrastructure, expansion of radar coverage, deployment of digital monitoring systems, and integration of globally compliant technologies to strengthen Nigeria’s airspace safety and efficiency.
The landmark event, scheduled for December 2–4, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, represents a historic breakthrough for Nigeria. It is the first-ever international airshow to be hosted in the country—an achievement attributed to the visionary leadership of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose reform-driven governance, pro-innovation policies, and commitment to aviation development created the platform for this milestone.
Industry stakeholders also commend the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, ESQ, SAN, for his strategic policy direction and sector-wide reforms that have repositioned Nigeria’s aviation industry for global competitiveness. His results-oriented leadership, enhanced regulatory engagement, and policy consistency have been instrumental in bringing the Nigeria International Airshow to fruition.
As Nigeria prepares to welcome global aviation leaders, aerospace innovators, manufacturers, regulators, and investors, the Nigeria International Airshow is expected to unlock new partnerships, improve regional collaborations, and deepen investment flows into the aviation and aerospace sector.
The event signals a new era of national pride, technological advancement, and renewed global visibility for the country’s aviation sector. With the coordinated efforts of the Federal Government, Aviation Ministry, NAMA, and strategic partners, Nigeria is positioning itself as a rising aviation hub and an influential voice in Africa’s airspace management future.
Nigeria’s Airspace Management Agency MD, Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, will unveil NAMA’s strategic roadmap for aviation safety, airspace technology, and sustainability at the inaugural Nigeria International Airshow 2025 in Abuja, marking a major milestone under President Tinubu and Minister Festus Keyamo.
