Air Peace on Thursday announced the diversion of its Abuja–Lagos service after intense rainfall in Lagos created unsafe landing conditions, forcing the flight to return to Abuja.

In an official statement signed by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, Air Peace said the unexpected weather challenge not only disrupted the affected flight but also triggered a chain of delays across its operational network.

According to the statement, the decision to divert the aircraft was taken purely on safety grounds as visibility in Lagos deteriorated significantly. The airline noted that such conditions fall outside standard operational limits, leaving the crew with no option but to prioritize passenger and crew safety.

“This unforeseen development has disrupted the flight, as well as subsequent flights across our operating network, and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused,” Efe stated.

The airline disclosed that all impacted passengers have been notified through its communication channels, with efforts underway to minimize inconvenience and restore normal scheduling as soon as possible.

Air Peace urged passengers seeking assistance or updated flight information to contact its support desk via callcenter@flyairpeace.com or +234-201-343-8133.

Reaffirming its long-standing commitment to global aviation safety standards, the airline emphasized that safety remains its utmost priority regardless of operational pressures or weather uncertainties.

Passengers were encouraged to check the airline’s website, www.flyairpeace.com, and verified social media platforms @flyairpeace for real-time updates.

The statement was dated 11 December 2025.
