United Nigeria Airlines has announced significant schedule disruptions across its domestic network following a bird strike involving one of its operating aircraft, reinforcing once again the airline’s firm stance on passenger safety as its highest operational priority.

In an official statement released on Thursday and signed by the airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, the carrier confirmed that the affected aircraft was immediately withdrawn from service for a full technical evaluation. Uloka stressed that the decision was taken in alignment with the airline’s strict safety protocols, which require a comprehensive inspection before the aircraft can return to operation.

According to the airline, the bird strike—an incident not uncommon in global aviation—necessitated the suspension of several scheduled flights to ensure no compromise is made regarding airworthiness and onboard safety.

United Nigeria Airlines remains committed to upholding the highest safety standards,” the statement noted. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this unexpected incident may cause to our passengers’ travel plans. We kindly appeal for patience and understanding as our team works tirelessly to minimize disruptions.”

The airline assured that proactive measures are being taken to assist affected passengers, including real-time updates, customer support engagement, and rebooking options to ease travel difficulties.

As the aircraft undergoes mandatory inspections, United Nigeria Airlines reiterated that the temporary disruptions reflect its non-negotiable commitment to prioritizing safety over operational convenience.

Passengers are encouraged to monitor the airline’s official communication channels for continuous updates on revised schedules.
