SAHCO Reaffirms Commitment to Operational Excellence, Ethical Governance and Sustainable Growth in 2026

Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has restated its strong commitment to operational excellence, ethical conduct, innovation, and sustainable growth as it reviews a successful 2025 and outlines strategic priorities for 2026 and beyond.
In a New Year message released on behalf of its Chairman, Board of Directors, and Executive Management, the company expressed gratitude to its customers for their continued patronage and trust throughout 2025. SAHCO подчеркed that customer partnership remains central to its operations and long-term success, assuring clients of improved service delivery and consistent value creation in the coming years.
The company also acknowledged the support of key stakeholders and partner government agencies, noting that effective collaboration played a significant role in strengthening service delivery and achieving shared objectives during the year under review.
Internally, SAHCO praised the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork of its workforce nationwide, attributing major operational achievements in 2025 to staff commitment. Among these milestones was the successful renewal of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) certification. The company further confirmed that its Regulated Agent (RA3) certification remains valid until 2027, while its Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) and Quality Management System (QMS) certifications were renewed in 2025.
SAHCO disclosed that its Training School Authorization was also renewed and revealed plans to expand the facility and enhance its curriculum offerings in 2026 in line with global aviation best practices, underscoring its focus on capacity building and human capital development.
On the business front, the company reported the onboarding of several new airline clients in 2025, including Ethiopian Airlines, Air Tanzania, and Air Algérie. Others are ValueJet Airlines and United Nigeria Airlines on their regional routes, in addition to their existing domestic operations, as well as Pioneer Airlines, Binani Airlines, ExeJet/Enugu Air, and Air Peace on its Antigua and Barbados routes.
The company’s strong operational performance during the year attracted multiple industry recognitions. These include the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Safety Excellence Award, the Aircraft Handling Service Achievement Award from the Nigerian Aviation Ground Handling Association (NIGAV), Aviation Service Provider of the Year from the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Best Ground Support Service Company of the Year at the Nigeria International Air Show, and a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Certification of Recognition from IATA.
Internationally, British Airways also recognised SAHCO’s Abuja Station with a Bronze Award and its Lagos Station with a Gold Award for Punctuality and Safety across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions.
In alignment with its sustainability agenda, SAHCO disclosed that it began the phased replacement of ageing ground handling equipment with environmentally friendly alternatives in 2025, a process it plans to sustain throughout 2026 while ensuring full compliance with environmental and sustainability standards across all its facilities.
Looking ahead, SAHCO said its 2026 strategic focus will be on operational excellence, revenue growth, and business expansion. Key initiatives include expanding cargo handling services, strengthening partnerships with state-owned airports, pursuing additional industry certifications, deepening engagement with local, regional, and international airline partners, enhancing customer engagement strategies, and diversifying into new business lines across the aviation value chain.

Management explained that the framework is designed to build a highly skilled and safety-driven workforce, standardise and enforce operational procedures, deploy data-driven analytics to boost performance and revenue, and develop an integrated digital and operational platform that connects people, processes, equipment, and data.
SAHCO reaffirmed that as it enters 2026, it remains focused on reimagining excellence with ethics at the core, innovation in action, and adaptability as the foundation for sustainable success. The company concluded by wishing all stakeholders and partners a prosperous, successful, and healthy New Year.
