The Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) has announced plans to host its 2026 Economic Outlook, a major policy dialogue aimed at examining Nigeria’s economic direction at a time of heightened reform pressures and shifting growth expectations.

The forum is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2026, by 10:00am, at the FICAN Secretariat, Lagos, and is expected to bring together senior financial journalists, economists, policymakers, private sector leaders, and other key stakeholders in the economy.

The National Chairman of FICAN, Mr. Chima Titus Nwokoji, will chair and formally declare the event open, underscoring the association’s commitment to shaping informed economic discourse and promoting accountability in fiscal and structural reforms.

The 2026 Economic Outlook will be held under the theme “Economy at an Inflection Point: Reform Fatigue Quagmire to Sustainable Growth.” Discussions will focus on the growing strain of prolonged reforms on businesses and households, the challenge of sustaining investor confidence, and the urgent need to convert policy adjustments into inclusive and measurable economic gains.

A major highlight of the event will be the official release of the CFG Advisory 2026 Economic Outlook, to be presented by the guest speaker, Mr. Tilewa Adebajo, Chief Executive Officer of CFG Advisory, Lagos.

His presentation is expected to provide data-driven insights into Nigeria’s macroeconomic outlook for 2026, covering fiscal sustainability, monetary policy direction, private sector confidence, and medium-term growth prospects.
According to FICAN, the forum will also serve as a platform for robust engagement on how Nigeria can transition from reform-induced hardship to sustainable economic expansion, strengthen policy credibility, and align economic reforms with productivity, job creation, and improved living standards.

The association noted that as Nigeria navigates global economic uncertainties and domestic structural adjustments, the 2026 Economic Outlook is designed to stimulate informed debate and offer practical perspectives that support sound economic decision-making

FICAN will host its 2026 Economic Outlook in Lagos on January 20, examining Nigeria’s economy at an inflection point and unveiling the CFG Advisory 2026 outlook amid reform fatigue and growth challenges.
