The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has recorded significant strides in automation, digital transformation and cost efficiency under the leadership of its Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, as the agency marked her second year in office.
Highlighting the milestones achieved during the anniversary celebration, Engr. Jensen Asaba, Director of Corporate Services, said the period has been defined by deliberate reforms aimed at modernising internal operations and improving service delivery across the organisation.
According to Asaba, one of the most notable achievements of his directorate has been the automation of key work processes, which has reduced manual bottlenecks and improved operational efficiency. He noted that the adoption of technology-driven systems has enhanced transparency, accountability and turnaround time in administrative functions.
He further disclosed that FAAN has successfully digitised its internal information-sharing processes, enabling faster communication, better coordination among departments and more informed decision-making. The initiative, he said, reflects the authority’s commitment to aligning its operations with global best practices in aviation management.
Asaba also emphasised the impact of cost-saving measures introduced under Mrs. Kuku’s leadership, describing them as critical to strengthening FAAN’s financial sustainability. Through prudent resource management and operational optimisation, the organisation has been able to reduce waste and channel savings into priority areas.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Asaba commended Mrs. Kuku for providing visionary and inclusive leadership that has fostered innovation, discipline and teamwork across the authority.
As FAAN moves into the next phase of Mrs. Kuku’s tenure, stakeholders say the gains recorded in automation, digitalisation and cost management provide a strong foundation for deeper institutional reforms and a more efficient aviation ecosystem in Nigeria.
FAAN marks two years of Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku’s leadership with major gains in automation, digital transformation and cost-saving initiatives, reinforcing efforts to modernise Nigeria’s aviation sector.
