The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reached a landmark achievement in aviation training, securing the coveted Gold Membership in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) TrainAir Plus Programme. This prestigious certification underscores FAAN’s commitment to global excellence and positions the Authority as a continental leader in aviation personnel development.

Henry Agbebire, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, stated, “This recognition, valid from January 1 to December 31, 2026, reflects FAAN’s unwavering dedication to international best practices, operational excellence, and the continuous professional growth of our aviation workforce.”

The milestone is credited to the visionary leadership of FAAN’s Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, whose focus on human resource development has driven the Authority’s training standards to match global benchmarks.

The ICAO TrainAir Plus Programme sets rigorous international criteria for training organizations, covering instructor competency, quality assurance, and effective training delivery. By attaining Gold Member status, FAAN has demonstrated full compliance with these exacting standards, elevating Nigeria’s aviation training profile and reinforcing the Authority’s mission to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable airport operations.
