The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has signalled a strategic shift in its corporate identity, positioning itself not merely as a revenue-generating entity but as the foundation of Nigeria’s drive for reliable and sustainable energy supply.
This message was conveyed by Bashir Bayo Ojulari via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, @BBOjulari, where he подчеркed that NNPC Limited now stands at the centre of Nigeria’s energy ecosystem, powering industrial growth, community development, and national aspirations.
According to Ojulari, the company’s renewed focus reflects a broader transformation aimed at ensuring long-term energy security and sustainability for Africa’s largest economy.
“NNPC Limited is more than a revenue source for Nigeria’s infrastructure; it is the bedrock of reliable, sustainable energy, powering the aspirations of every industry and community. This is our new reality,” he stated.
Ojulari disclosed that this new strategic direction will be formally unveiled at the Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) 2026, scheduled to hold in February in Abuja. The summit is expected to provide a high-level platform for NNPC Limited to present its energy blueprint to policymakers, investors, industry leaders, and international partners.
Analysts note that the statement underscores NNPC Limited’s ongoing transition into a commercially focused and globally competitive energy company, aligned with Nigeria’s energy transition agenda and economic diversification goals. The blueprint to be presented at NIES 2026 is anticipated to outline strategies spanning oil and gas optimisation, energy infrastructure development, and the integration of cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions.
With NIES 2026 expected to draw key stakeholders from across the global energy value chain, NNPC Limited’s participation is seen as a critical step in reinforcing its leadership role in shaping Nigeria’s energy future and driving inclusive, sustainable economic growth.
