Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence, ethical leadership, and long-term sustainability following a high-level Management Retreat that convened senior executives, regional leaders, and key stakeholders for strategic reflection and planning.
The retreat, held at the Marriott Hotel and themed “Reimagining Excellence: Ethics, Thrive and Sustain,” provided a platform for aligning leadership vision with emerging business realities, strengthening governance culture, and positioning the organisation for sustainable growth within Nigeria’s evolving aviation landscape.
Facilitated by Emmarach Limited and the Learning and Development Network International (LDNI) in collaboration with SAHCO’s Training Department, the programme featured expert-led sessions on building a performance-driven culture through 360-degree leadership, work–life integration, ethical workplace standards, technology-enabled operational efficiency, and economic reform trends shaping the aviation industry.
Interactive discussions and practical problem-solving engagements enabled participants to deepen leadership capacity and develop strategies for navigating a complex and competitive operating environment.
A central highlight of the retreat was a series of presentations by Executive Directors and Regional Managers, who delivered data-driven insights into operational performance, regional market dynamics, key challenges, and emerging opportunities. The sessions strengthened cross-functional collaboration and reinforced SAHCO’s commitment to informed, evidence-based decision-making.
Representing the Chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, CON, the Coordinating Director of SIFAX Group, Mrs. Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, commended the Board, Management, and workforce for sustaining SAHCO’s industry leadership and corporate reputation. She emphasised that operational excellence must remain firmly anchored on ethical values, responsibility, and long-term sustainability.
She noted that the retreat was not only a strategic exercise but also a leadership-shaping initiative designed to ensure SAHCO continues to thrive with integrity and enduring impact.
In her opening address, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, praised the management team’s resilience, sacrifice, and dedication, stating that disciplined leadership, strong corporate governance, and robust operational systems have enabled the company to maintain performance despite a challenging business climate.
She cautioned against complacency, stressing that past achievements must translate into stronger organisational capability, accountability, and measurable outcomes. According to her, SAHCO’s strategic focus must remain centred on operational excellence, revenue growth, business expansion, and sustainable value creation, driven by bold thinking and decisive leadership that consistently exceeds customer expectations and strengthens Nigeria’s position in global aviation services.

for their leadership in advancing digital transformation within SAHCO’s operations.
