In a significant move to modernize Nigeria’s aviation sector, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) today unveiled its updated Service Charter, aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, safety, and professionalism across the country’s airports.
The launch event was led by Mrs. Fransisca Adediji, Acting Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement at the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development (FMA&AD), representing the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary. She was joined by senior aviation officials, including Mr. Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at FAAN; Mrs. Ngozi Akinbogewa, HOD Operations at SERVICOM Presidency, representing the National Coordinator; and Mrs. Monica Alphonse, Nodal Officer and General Manager of Customer Service at FAAN. Other top management executives and stakeholders were also in attendance.
The revised Service Charter reflects FAAN’s commitment to aligning its operations with the highest global aviation standards. It is structured to improve service delivery at all Nigerian airports, emphasizing customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, safety protocols, and professional conduct. The initiative also seeks to strengthen accountability mechanisms and ensure that passengers receive timely and accurate information during their airport experience.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Adediji highlighted that the Service Charter is not only a framework for operational excellence but also a critical tool for boosting public confidence in the nation’s aviation system.
“This updated Charter is a step forward in ensuring that Nigerian airports meet international best practices while delivering world-class service to travelers,” she stated.
Mr. Agbebire noted that FAAN is committed to continuous improvement, stating, “Our renewed focus on customer-centric operations and adherence to international safety standards ensures that travelers have a seamless and secure airport experience.”
The Service Charter will serve as a reference for passengers, staff, and stakeholders, clearly outlining FAAN’s commitments and the standards passengers can expect. This move is seen as part of FAAN’s broader strategy to modernize airport operations, boost passenger satisfaction, and enhance Nigeria’s position in the global aviation community.
