Global aviation leaders, policymakers, investors, and technology innovators are set to converge on Addis Ababa from April 14 to 16, 2026, for the Ethiopian Aviation Forum 2026—an influential industry gathering aimed at accelerating Africa’s aviation growth, connectivity, and sustainability agenda.

The high-level forum will focus on four strategic pillars expected to shape the continent’s aviation future: maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) aerospace development; airfreight and logistics expansion; aviation technology and innovation; and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) alongside broader green-energy initiatives.

Discussions under the MRO pillar will explore the expansion of regional maintenance capacity, the creation of competitive MRO hubs, workforce skills development, and deeper supply-chain integration designed to reduce dependence on overseas aircraft servicing.

Airfreight and logistics conversations will examine cargo infrastructure modernization, multimodal transport connectivity, the rapid growth of e-commerce logistics, and the strengthening of Africa–Asia trade corridors to unlock new commercial opportunities across the continent.

Technology and innovation sessions are expected to highlight digital transformation in airport and airline operations, smart aviation systems, artificial intelligence-driven processes, enhanced safety standards, and next-generation solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and passenger experience.

Sustainability will feature prominently, with stakeholders assessing SAF production pathways, green airport development, carbon-reduction strategies, and collaborative frameworks to support environmentally responsible aviation expansion in Africa.

The forum will convene aviation ministry officials, civil aviation authorities, airline chief executives, airport operators, global original equipment manufacturers, MRO providers, logistics leaders, technology companies, investors, and international exhibitors—creating a platform for policy dialogue, trade cooperation, and investment partnerships.

Organisers—including Ethiopian Airlines Group, AfriSaf, Megacap, AfBAA, and AFRAA—have called on global stakeholders and aviation bodies to support the event through official endorsements, delegation participation, exhibitions, and facilitation of business-to-business and business-to-government engagements.

They further encouraged industry players to showcase capabilities in MRO, cargo, aviation technology, and SAF while strengthening investment flows, policy cooperation, and cross-border partnerships.
As preparations intensify ahead of April 2026, the Ethiopian Aviation Forum is widely viewed as a strategic catalyst for unlocking Africa’s aviation potential—advancing regional integration, driving innovation, and supporting the continent’s transition toward greener and more resilient air transport systems.
