Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has emerged as the overall champion at the 20th edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games (NOGIG), which wrapped up on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Abuja. The victory highlights NLNG’s commitment to excellence, teamwork, and corporate camaraderie in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Team NLNG dominated the competition, securing 52 medals—20 gold, 16 silver, and 16 bronze—and edging out defending champions Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), who finished with 49 medals (14 gold, 15 silver, 20 bronze). The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) claimed third place with 18 medals, while TotalEnergies rounded out the top four with 15. Other notable participants included Seplat Energy, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, Oando, Renaissance, and Aradel.
The biennial tournament, held from February 8 to 14, celebrated 40 years of unity, collaboration, and sporting excellence across Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. It provided a platform for companies to engage beyond the boardroom, fostering teamwork, camaraderie, and healthy competition.

Leading NLNG’s delegation at the Abuja Stadium was Olakunle Osobu, Deputy Managing Director of NLNG. In a statement released by Anne-Marie Palmer-Ikuku, Manager of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs, Osobu praised Team NLNG for reflecting the company’s core values.
“This victory is a testament to the resilience, discipline, and unity that define NLNG. Excellence at NLNG is not confined to the boardroom; it is embedded in our culture and reflected in how we compete, collaborate, and win—whether in business or on the field,” Osobu said.
He added that NLNG’s performance at NOGIG underscores its commitment to employee wellness, teamwork, and building stronger industry relationships, further consolidating its role as a leader in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Organisers described the 20th edition as a landmark event, highlighting the sector’s enduring commitment to corporate camaraderie, sportsmanship, and collaboration beyond everyday operations. With chants of #TeamNLNG and #Champions echoing across the stadium, the victory reinforces NLNG’s status as a pioneer in both energy production and sporting excellence.
