The Director General of Standard Organisations of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke is expected to deliver a paper at the 2026 World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) event on March 13.
Other regulatory agencies expected to speak at the event are top officials from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), alongside renowned consumer rights advocate Mrs. Sola Salako-Ajulo.
WCRD is a global event celebrated annually on March 15, to draw attention to the plights of consumers.
The theme for this year is: “Safe Product, Confident Consumer”.
Organised by the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN), the event is scheduled to hold at the Ososa factory of Rite Foods Limited, in Ogun State.
BJAN Chairman, Daniel Obi, said the event is designed to provide a robust discussion among regulators, industry stakeholders, and consumers, with a view to enhancing consumer confidence resulting from safe product consumption.
