The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has issued a travel advisory to alert passengers of flight cancellations and delays to Middle East destinations due to ongoing airspace closures in the region.
According to FAAN, travellers are being warned of significant disruptions affecting flights between Nigeria and parts of the Middle East due to airspace restrictions in several countries.
In a statement, FAAN management said the closures have led to cancellations and delays of multiple flights scheduled from Nigerian airports to destinations across the Middle East. Passengers are urged to contact their respective airlines directly for up-to-date flight information, rebooking options, and guidance on travel adjustments.
“Passengers affected by these disruptions should reach out to their airlines immediately to confirm flight status and explore alternative travel arrangements,” FAAN said. “We continue to monitor the situation in close collaboration with airline operators and international aviation authorities and will provide timely updates as necessary.”
FAAN emphasized its commitment to passenger safety and operational efficiency, noting that it regrets any inconvenience caused by the situation. Travellers are advised to stay connected to official airline communications and FAAN channels for verified information.
The authority also reassured passengers that all necessary measures are being taken to minimize the impact of the disruptions and maintain smooth airport operations across Nigeria.
As international flight schedules remain unpredictable due to the airspace closures, FAAN encouraged travellers to plan ahead, verify travel documents, and remain patient while airlines and airport authorities manage the evolving situation.
