Air Peace Denies Lagos State Tax Suit Claims Against CEO and Vice Chairman

March 23, 2026: Air Peace Limited has strongly denied reports suggesting that its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, and Vice Chairman, Mrs. Alice Ojochide Onyema, are facing a tax-related lawsuit from the Lagos State Government.
In an official statement issued by Air Peace Management, the airline clarified that neither the Onyemas nor Air Peace have been served with any court summons or formal communication regarding the purported suit. “The claim that legal proceedings have been ongoing since February, without proper service or notification, is surprising and deeply concerning,” the statement read.
The airline reaffirmed its compliance with all personal and corporate tax obligations, noting that all payments are current and fully in line with Nigerian tax laws and regulatory requirements. Air Peace further stated that, should any discrepancy arise in the computation of taxes, it is open to engaging the Lagos State Government to review and reconcile any issues, in the interest of transparency, clarity, and due process.
Air Peace also highlighted the long-standing contributions of the Onyemas to Nigeria’s aviation sector. Over the years, the airline and its leadership have consistently demonstrated integrity, resilience, and patriotism, helping to advance domestic and regional air travel. “These values remain at the core of our operations,” the statement added.
