The countdown has begun for the 20th anniversary of the School of Eloquence, Nigeria’s leading institution for public speaking and communication training. Founded in July 2006 by renowned speaker and Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), Ubong Essien, the school has spent nearly two decades helping individuals find their voice and speak with power.
Reflecting on the milestone, Essien expressed his passion for both speaking and teaching others how to communicate effectively.
“The joy of speaking makes me come alive,” he said. “Even more so, teaching it to others. I genuinely enjoy being the Dean of the School of Eloquence.”
Since its inception, the School of Eloquence has trained thousands of professionals, leaders, and aspiring speakers, empowering them to overcome fear, express their thoughts clearly, and lead with confidence.
As preparations build toward the 20-year celebration in 2026, Essien shared a powerful question that continues to guide the school’s mission:
“Why would anyone be scared of sharing their thoughts? What do you think holds people back from speaking up?”
The question invites reflection on the personal and professional barriers that often silence individuals — from fear of judgment to lack of confidence. Through its courses and mentorship, the School of Eloquence aims to remove those barriers and create a generation of articulate, impactful communicators.
With hashtags like #SpeakWithPower, #20YearsOfExcellence, and #UbongEssienCSP gaining traction online, the journey toward this historic milestone is not just about celebration — it’s about reaffirming a commitment to excellence in communication.
