Oloworaran Commends Governor Ododo’s Dedication to Pensioners’ Welfare

The Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, has applauded the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his steadfast commitment to the welfare of pensioners.

Oloworaran gave the commendation when the Governor paid her a courtesy visit at PenCom’s headquarters in Abuja. She described Ododo’s efforts in addressing pension challenges as exemplary and worthy of emulation by other state leaders.

During the visit, Governor Ododo congratulated Oloworaran on her appointment as PenCom’s Director-General, praising her as a proud daughter of Kogi State and pledging his administration’s full support for her leadership.

The Governor reiterated his government’s dedication to pension reforms in Kogi, stressing that the welfare of retirees remains a top priority. He highlighted measures already undertaken, such as ensuring the regular payment of gratuities and the systematic clearance of outstanding pension liabilities. He also noted that his advocacy for pension reforms predated his assumption of office, reflecting his personal conviction on the importance of retirees’ financial security.

In response, Oloworaran reaffirmed PenCom’s readiness to partner with the Kogi State Government in strengthening pension administration. She emphasized that collaboration at state level is crucial to safeguarding the welfare of workers and retirees while promoting transparency and sustainability in the pension sector.

The meeting ended with both parties renewing their shared vision of building a reliable and sustainable pension system that guarantees dignity and financial stability for pensioners in Kogi State and across Nigeria
