The Executive Vice President, Upstream, of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Mr. Udy Ntia, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to driving collaborative investments that will strengthen Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector and support global energy transition efforts.
Speaking during the Global Strategy Session at the ongoing Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2025), themed “Beyond the Barrel: The Future of Upstream Strategy,” Ntia underscored the company’s readiness to co-invest in industry-wide solutions aimed at boosting Nigeria’s hydrocarbon output and achieving national and regional energy objectives.
Ntia stated that NNPC Ltd is focused on accelerating oil and gas production through strategic partnerships that balance energy security with sustainability. He emphasized that collaboration remains the core of NNPC’s upstream strategy as the company continues to evolve from a traditional oil player into a globally competitive energy company.
“Our focus is clear — NNPC Ltd is ready to co-invest in shared solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce emissions, and accelerate production in line with Nigeria’s energy mandate,” Ntia said.
The session brought together global energy leaders to discuss strategies for redefining upstream operations “beyond the barrel,” with emphasis on innovation, cleaner energy, and long-term resilience. Ntia’s contributions highlighted NNPC Ltd’s pivotal role in positioning Nigeria as a leading energy supplier in Africa while advancing sustainability goals.
