TOLULOPE A. ODUNAIYA, Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD)
The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has issued a strong warning to pensioners and the general public to be cautious of fraudulent social media accounts posing as the agency’s official platforms. The Directorate emphasized that all authentic information about its programmes, pension verification, and welfare initiatives are only shared through its verified channels.
In a public statement, PTAD reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to pensioners’ welfare and transparency in service delivery. The agency urged Nigerians to stay informed and connected through its official social media platforms, which are:
- Facebook: www.facebook.com/PTADNigeria
- Instagram: www.instagram.com/ptad.nigeria
- X (formerly Twitter): @PTADNigeria
- WhatsApp Channel: Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD)
PTAD categorically stated that it does not and will never request personal banking information such as OTPs, ATM card details, PINs, or cash payments for the purpose of “I Am Alive” confirmation or pension processing.
“Any person or account asking for payment or benefits-in-kind on behalf of PTAD is a scam,” the statement warned. “We urge pensioners and the general public to verify that they are engaging with our official pages and to reach out through our verified contact channels if in doubt.”
The Directorate reiterated that pensioners’ protection and welfare remain central to its mission. It assured that all communication from PTAD is done through secure and verified digital platforms designed to prevent fraud and misinformation.
By strengthening its presence on trusted social media platforms, PTAD aims to enhance transparency, promote digital engagement, and safeguard retirees from online scammers exploiting the digital space.
PTAD warns pensioners to beware of fake social media accounts posing as the agency and lists its verified Facebook, Instagram, X, and WhatsApp channels for authentic information and updates.
