ValueJet has set a new benchmark in African aviation with the launch of VIKI, its artificial intelligence–powered digital concierge designed to redefine the passenger experience. The airline says the platform is part of a broader digital transformation strategy aimed at making air travel faster, more convenient, and accessible to all.
VIKI operates across popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram, and supports both voice and text interactions. Passengers can use simple commands to book flights, modify reservations, check in online, access boarding passes, and receive real-time travel updates—eliminating the need to visit airports or navigate complex airline websites.
The AI assistant also enhances accessibility for visually impaired travelers, providing spoken responses to voice prompts and enabling a more inclusive travel experience.
Speaking on the launch, Captain Omololu Majekodunmi, Managing Director of ValueJet, described VIKI as “a major milestone in our digital journey. Innovation should directly benefit passengers, and VIKI reflects our commitment to delivering smarter, safer, and seamless travel across Africa.”
Temitope Ajijola, Head of Business Program and IT, added that interacting with VIKI is like “chatting with a trusted personal assistant,” guiding passengers through flight options, seat selection, payment, and boarding pass delivery within minutes.
Chief Commercial Officer Trevor Henry emphasized that the platform empowers passengers with greater control over their journeys, reduces hold times, and minimizes reliance on traditional customer service channels.
Following the internal rollout of its staff-focused AI tool, TOPS, ValueJet says the launch of VIKI positions the airline as a leader in AI-driven passenger services, bringing on-demand travel support directly to customers.
The airline aims to tackle longstanding challenges in the Nigerian aviation market—speed, convenience, and accessibility—while ensuring that digital innovation translates into tangible benefits for travelers.
