APC Celebrates Tinubu at 74, Hails Bold Economic Reforms and Leadership Vision

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has celebrated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, describing him as a bold reformist and the “architect of a new Nigeria” whose leadership is reshaping the country’s economic and governance direction.
In a goodwill message issued by the National Chairman of the party, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on behalf of the National Working Committee, stakeholders, and members of the ruling party across Nigeria and the diaspora, the APC said the President’s life represents decades of political resilience, democratic struggle, and transformative leadership.
The party noted that the occasion goes beyond celebration, serving as a national moment of reflection on Tinubu’s political journey—from his role in Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement, to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, and now as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the statement, President Tinubu has consistently demonstrated “uncommon vision, courage, and strategic leadership,” adding that his career has been defined by a firm commitment to nation-building and institutional reform.
‘A Leader Who Chooses Reform Over Convenience’
The APC said the President assumed office at a challenging period in Nigeria’s economic history and has since taken what it described as “bold but necessary decisions” to correct structural imbalances in the economy.
“These reforms, though sometimes difficult in the short term, are foundational to long-term prosperity, stability, and inclusive growth,” the statement said.
The party highlighted key policy directions under the Tinubu administration, including fiscal restructuring, economic stabilisation measures, expanded infrastructure investment, and reforms aimed at improving revenue generation and restoring investor confidence.
It added that the administration is also deepening interventions in agriculture, energy, education, healthcare, and industry as part of a broader strategy to improve livelihoods and stimulate productivity.

The APC further noted that Nigeria is undergoing what it described as a “broad recalibration” of its economic and governance systems under Tinubu’s leadership.
According to the statement, the reforms are designed to strengthen fiscal discipline, enhance transparency, expand social protection programmes, and create a more competitive environment for businesses and innovation.
The party also commended ongoing efforts in digital transformation, youth empowerment, and local production, describing them as central to building a future-ready economy.
