SIFAX Hails Onigbinde’s Election as MARAN President

SIFAX Group has congratulated Mr Oluyinka Onigbinde on his election as the new President of the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), describing his emergence as a strong endorsement of his professionalism, leadership capacity, and years of contribution to Nigeria’s maritime journalism landscape.

The congratulatory message was conveyed in an official statement signed by Dr Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman of SIFAX Group, on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff of the company.

Dr Afolabi, who also serves as Patron of MARAN, stated that Onigbinde’s election did not come as a surprise, noting that the newly elected president has consistently distinguished himself through credible reportage, industry engagement, and dedication to promoting the growth of the maritime sector through journalism.

Afolabi further stressed the importance of the media in shaping public understanding of the maritime industry, noting that a vibrant and professional maritime press remains critical to the development of Nigeria’s blue economy, port operations, shipping, logistics, and international trade ecosystem.
