Strengthening West & Central African Skyways: Nigeria Advances AMHS Implementation

The President of the National Air Traffic Communicators’ Association of Nigeria, (NACAN)/General overseer, Aeronautical Communications department Alhaji Rabiu Sani says Nigeria is actively advancing the implementation of AMHS connectivity between the Nigerian Airspace and the ASECNA Flight information regions

This includes, Cotonou, Lome, Douala, Libreville, Malabo, Niamey, Brazzaville and ND’jamena.

Addressing delegates at the 5th ordinary congress of FAPETEL in Dakar, Senegal, Sani remarked that the Nigerian Airspace remains committed under the leadership of Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, the MD/CE to working closely with ASECNA and all African partners to facilitate technical discussion on the establishment of AMHS IP Connectivity, configuration and interoperability testing;

and coordination of implementation schedules, etc to ensure smooth and safe Air navigation services.

He described the two day congress with the theme: Strengthening competencies in Aeronautical Telecommunication: Training the experts of tomorrow as timely as the future of aviation depends on skilled professionals, modern technologies, and stronger regional cooperation.

Sani extended appreciation for the invitation and also congratulated the organisers of the important congress and wished them successful deliberations
