In a move reflecting Nigeria LNG Limited’s (NLNG) proactive engagement in the global energy sector, a high-level NLNG delegation yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Secretariat in Doha. The visit took place on the sidelines of the ongoing LNG2026 Conference, one of the premier gatherings of leaders, investors, and experts in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry.
The NLNG team, led by Mr. Olakunle Osobu, Deputy Managing Director, was received by His Excellency Dr. Philip Mshelbila, Secretary General of GECF, alongside senior members of the Secretariat’s leadership. The engagement provided a unique platform for constructive dialogue on the outlook of the global gas market, energy economics, infrastructure development, and the strategic role of natural gas in achieving energy security and sustainable development goals.
Delegates discussed key topics including market trends, LNG infrastructure expansion, data analytics for decision-making, and the integration of sustainable practices into global gas operations. These discussions are part of NLNG’s ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration, share best practices, and align Nigeria’s LNG operations with international standards and emerging trends.
“NLNG’s participation in forums such as LNG2026 demonstrates our commitment to not only producing LNG but also shaping the global discourse on energy security, sustainability, and market growth,” said Mr. Osobu.
The visit also signals Nigeria’s growing influence within the global LNG ecosystem, reaffirming NLNG’s position as a key player in international energy markets. By fostering dialogue and partnerships at this level, NLNG continues to ensure that Nigeria remains strategically engaged in decisions that impact global gas supply, pricing, and sustainable energy development.
The engagement exemplifies how knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships remain critical to driving innovation and strengthening resilience in the global gas industry, positioning NLNG as a thought leader and collaborator on the world stage.
