Nestlé has announced a major leadership transition within its sustainability and corporate responsibility framework with the appointment of Rob Cameron as the new Chairman of the company’s Creating Shared Value (CSV) Council.

Cameron succeeds Janet Voûte, who has chaired the Council for more than 10 years and played a pivotal role in embedding sustainability, nutrition, and social impact principles into Nestlé’s global business strategy.

The appointment signals Nestlé’s continued commitment to aligning business growth with social and environmental responsibility at a time when global corporations are under increasing pressure to demonstrate measurable impact beyond profits.

The CSV Council serves as an independent external advisory body to Nestlé’s Executive Board, offering strategic guidance on sustainability, responsible sourcing, nutrition, climate action, regenerative agriculture, and long-term stakeholder value creation.

Announcing the leadership change, Philipp Navratil described the Council as a critical part of Nestlé’s long-term sustainability architecture.

According to him, the advisory body has continued to provide valuable recommendations and insights that support the company’s ambition to create value for consumers, communities, investors, and the environment simultaneously.

Navratil commended Janet Voûte for her decade-long stewardship, noting that her leadership helped strengthen the integration of the Creating Shared Value philosophy across Nestlé’s global operations.

He said the outgoing chair played a significant role in shaping the company’s sustainability vision and ensuring that responsible business practices remained central to Nestlé’s growth agenda.

“ The CSV Council provides us with invaluable insights, guidance and recommendations, as we work to create value for all Nestlé stakeholders,” Navratil stated.

“I would like to thank Janet for her leadership over more than a decade and for helping us embed CSV across Nestlé. I am confident that Rob will build on this work, as we advance our ambitions on nutrition, regenerative agriculture and climate action,” he added.

Nestlé’s Creating Shared Value strategy focuses on ensuring that business success contributes positively to society by improving livelihoods, supporting sustainable agriculture, reducing environmental impact, and promoting healthier lifestyles.

Industry analysts say the appointment of Rob Cameron comes at a crucial time when multinational corporations are increasingly being evaluated not only by their financial performance but also by their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments.

Experts believe the transition could further strengthen Nestlé’s positioning as one of the leading global companies pursuing sustainability-driven growth and climate-conscious corporate policies.

The company has in recent years intensified efforts around regenerative agriculture, carbon emission reduction, responsible sourcing, water stewardship, and nutrition-focused innovation as part of its broader sustainability roadmap.

With Rob Cameron now taking over leadership of the CSV Council, stakeholders are expected to closely watch how Nestlé deepens its environmental and social impact strategies while sustaining long-term business growth in a rapidly changing global economy.

Nestlé appoints Rob Cameron as Chairman of its Creating Shared Value Council, succeeding Janet Voûte after over a decade of leadership as the company intensifies sustainability and climate action efforts.
